It’s that time again! A new Movie Express has pulled into the station, this week Steve Martin and John Candy charm us with their funny and poignant performances in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Viggo Mortensen surprises us in Cronenberg’s A History of Violence and we discuss the ups and downs of superhero pictures in Table Time.
December will also see a return of our Christmas extravaganza, please suggest some films that you would like to see discussed on the show!
Apologies for the wavy sound in the first segment.
This week Conor and Luke got Western. First was Seraphim Falls, criminally overlooked chase/revenge western ranging from snowy mountains to the desert. Canadian season continues with Gunless, similarly overlooked and very funny comedy western which itself ranges into interesting territory – Canada. Table Time is yet another journey, this time into Skyrim.
Back on the road with a brand new season! Conor and Luke discuss the science fiction spectacular Galaxy Quest, a film that reunites the cast of the seminal eighties TV show! Canada’s also on the agenda as the Canadian Film Season begins in the most hardcore way possible with Hard Core Logo, a gripping and poignant movie about music and life on the road. Real Steel is on the table as is Raising Hope a show by the guy who did My Name is Earl! Nanu nanu!
Cheerfully Inaccurate
The Galaxy Quest reunion took place at Wondercon 2008. Luke’s Questarian license was revoked shortly after recording.
